Ebook Boot Camp

You’ve got a manuscript, nice and clean and edited and ready to go. You want to put your manuscript out for the world to buy, and read. But what’s next?

Well, if you’re like most writers, now you have questions…

  • Where do I get started?
  • How do I convert my manuscript for publishing?
  • Where do I get a cover?
  • How can I ensure sales?
  • Where should I publish it?

You’ll learn all this – and much more – in the Ebook Boot Camp!

Who is teaching this course?

I’m Matthew Bin, a very experienced writer and self-publisher. I’ve been publishing ebooks since 2009, starting with the first book I traditionally published, L.M.F.

Since then I’ve helped numerous clients achieve their publishing dreams. I’ve helped authors put over 50 titles up on Amazon, Kobo, iBookstore, and Barnes & Noble, with tens of thousands of dollars in total sales.

I’ve also worked in the writing and publishing industry for nearly 20 years. I was national chair of the Canadian Authors Association and I have worked with writers groups large and small. I’ve had three books traditionally published and numerous others published on ebook platforms.

I’ve got the experience and know-how to help you achieve your publishing dreams as well.

Your professionalism, positivity, and punctuality always made it a joy to work with you. Throughout the entire writing process you were only a quick message away to help and seemed to always be in-tune with my vision. You made my dream a reality with your outstanding editing and publishing skills. Your expertise and experience gave me the confidence I needed to push through my insecurities and publish an actual book! I look forward to working with you again, and highly recommend your amazing services to other authors.

What will I learn in the ePublishing Boot Camp?

This Boot Camp is a complete, hands-on course. You can start with a manuscript on Saturday morning at 9 o’clock, and by Sunday afternoon you’ll be ready to hit “Publish” and put it up for sale.

That’s right. Without any experience with epublishing, even if you’ve never published anything before, you’ll be ready to publish a professional ebook on the world’s largest and most profitable publishing platforms.

Publishing ebooks seems daunting at first – that’s why some services charge hundreds, or thousands, of dollars to authors to put their work online. That’s why this course was designed: to take you, the independent self-publishing author, through every step of the epublishing process.

You will learn:

  • Rules for succeeding in the current ebook market
  • How to navigate – and succeed on – three major ebook sales platforms
  • How to prepare a bullet-proof manuscript for epublishing
  • How to set up an ebook for sales success – without investing in ads or promotion
  • The end-to-end process for ebook publishing, from creating an account, arranging payment and taxes, and setting up a book on the three major platforms

And on top of that, you’ll get your first book’s cover designed, including a high-quality cover photograph from a leading stock photo site – and I’ll buy the photo for you for free!

I’m even going to serve you lunch and supply you with coffee (you’ll need the energy!) – all for one amazing price.

Matt was recommended to my by my editor when I asked her about help with book layout. What the inside of your book looks like is just as important as what the cover looks like. Matt helped me create outstanding versions in both formats – paperback and e-book. As a first-time author, first-time self-publisher, I had a LOT of questions. Matt was patient and extremely helpful.

Is the ePublishing Boot Camp right for me?

So you’re considering joining us at an upcoming boot camp. Is it right for you?

The course was designed for writers who:

  • Know they want to epublish. It doesn’t matter if you’ve published before, want to publish traditionally in the future, or are entirely new to the publishing game. If you are interested in e-publishing, this course will prepare you extremely well for the e-publishing approach.
  • Have a manuscript that they’re ready to publish, or will be ready to publish soon. You don’t have to be absolutely sure of what you’re going to do in the e-publishing game – that’s what this course is for! But you should have a piece of writing of publishable length, and know what it is and what you might want to do with it, before you join. To get the most out of the course, you’ll want something real to work with, to workshop, and to get ready for publishing!
  • See epublishing as part of their long-term strategy. As you’ll learn in the boot camp, epublishing works best for those who intend to publish multiple works over the long term. This course gives those authors skills that will pay off greater dividends as they publish more and more.
  • Have a laptop. We’re going to be very hands-on in the boot camp, so you’ll want to work directly with your files, right in front of you.
  • Are reasonably technically savvy. You’re not going to need to do any programming or anything! But participants who are comfortable with online apps, word processors, and similar tools will get the most out of the course.

I hired Matthew to format my book since I’d heard it needed to be professionally done to come out right on eReaders, both Kindle and Kobo. Even his first version of the reformatted manuscript was an improvement and he worked with me on several changes I needed to get it looking great. His work was professional and timely. He set out a schedule to finish the work at the beginning and stuck with that schedule to the final delivery date. I’ve had many positive comments on the book from readers about how professional it looked.
